AMEN!! I couldn't have said it better myself. The massive amount of anger is a dead give away that his issue if not about pain. That is junkie rage. How do I know? Cause I'm a junkie. But what a lot of people fail to understand its that I didn't want this. I became a junkie because I too am in pain. But its not physical pain. Its mental and emotional anguish from years of sexual abuse, neglect, and sub par parental love, guidance support and all that good stuff. I took a pill one day and found that for a few hours per pill, none of that mattered. I've tried every anti-depressant and mood stabilizer on the market and NOTHING worked like a vicodin or an oxy. I'm sincerely sorry to those of you that are in legitimate pain. I mean you no disrespect, but that's my truth. Other abusers piss me off cuz unlike them, I want desperately to stop. I would much rather face my problems than be a slave to a pill. I wish I'd known better. Anyway, I said all that to say, yes, C.W is full of crap.

I have been taking Oxycontin 80's for years and have been trying to figure out when they actually release the medication to no avail. I resorted to snorting them because they worked right away and I didn't have to wait for hours for a small amount of meds to release and would like to know if there is a danger of any kind when you snort these new Oxycontin OP's. The only problem I had with the old ones was a stopped up nose.

You know what im right there with you which is bull s**t that they gone put plastic in these things to cause us many more problems then we had before, and they say they had to change cause of junkies but yet they still find a way. so here we are the ones that need the meds to work and continue on with everyday things that junkies don't have to worry about and now we are suffering I have tried several other pain meds since they changed the ox to op and nothing is working not to mention my face and head sweats so bad I shouldn't bother outing on makeup or fixing my hair because i'm always soaked i'm going to lose my job if I can't make it stop any suggestions? There has to be a way for the fda to have to bring back the ox the ones that work the op are not the same by a long shot and is causing bowel infections and everything else if the fda gives a damn about the people it was helping the would bring them back cause now they are causing people to To and die because they are in pain and mixing opana roxicodone vics perk annex and killing themselves trying to find meds that work the way the ox did so could someone please help us out here that are miserable and bring back the meds that work please please

I take 3 40mg ER per day. For the past few months I have been getting the OP version. For some reason I get headaches from these. How can I get rid of these headaches ? I will say that I have not noticed a difference in pain relief.

Hi,I was reading your opinion on taking large doses of Oxycontin for SEVERE chronic pain, I also was in a fatal wreck and went through 2 major lumbar surgeries ,the 2nd surgery was a failed surgery due to heart trouble trouble. I live in North Florida, and have a wife and 3 kids to support,I am currently prescribed Oxy"OP"80mg 3x a day+2 OxyIR 30mg.the "OPs"do not work as well at all,"taken whole as prescribed". How do you get the doctor to prescribe 2 different mg of med to equal over80mg?or a little more B/T med.?

Naomi Jade, I think your proposals are insane. You want congress to pay for your rehab? You WANT legitimate new doctors to have to become addicted to narcotics as part of training for a year? You are just crazy.

hi there. i am wondering if we could talk. I have the same as you and was just put up to 80 oxy. I take it only as prescribed. I am hoping i will be able to get up and out of the house now. I am only 43 and with 5 growing children. I am too young to be handicapped.

These can be broken down and Injected for at least i know. What i do is just crush it up reallllly fine. Add to a spoon. Heat it until it looks realllllllly burnt like a yellowist tint. Add 250cc of water cook again. Add cotton Get your dope hit a vein and enjoy.

I just wanted to say to you that you have no reason to believe that you have 'a less than proud end to my military career'. Unless you blew yourself up on purpose, I am thinking you are a hero, plain and simple. I am sorry you are in so much pain...I know the feeling. I pray you get the meds you need - hell, they should give them to you on a frickin' silver platter. Thank you for your service to our country. I appreciate it.

Hi there. I am sorry for your pain and frustration and certainly no stranger to it. I have come to find that the 80 oxy begins to release in about an hour everytime for me. You sound as though you are suffering so much, so you are like me and I want to watch out for those in our tough daily situation. Please my friend, do not snort it( although I once thought about it before as well). And do not cut it, or let that special coating come off it. That way it all releases right away and the possibility of overdosing is great. I understand that sometimes the pain makes that seem like a good option at times, but please dont do that. My pain nurse told me that despite what we are told, you can go higher than a 80mg pill and it sounds like that is not working for you anylonger. Also, I went for some sort of steroid injection and along with the 80 oxy, i was able to return to the land of the living for a few weeks. This enabled me to get back some hope and faith that one day, I will be able to do some more again. Please feel free to email me if you ever need to talk. Jacqueline M

I'm sorry but you are all a bunch of whiners. The OCs were developed as a save painkiller for seriously sick people. A friend of mine had them prescribed after both his legs were crushed in a car accident. When he first got them he already knew how to abuse them. We crushed one 20 and got high. As an ex-junkie I immediatly knew this to be a sort of synthetic heroin - impossible not to be addictive as my friend said he was told. By the way, back then the stuff was known in the media as "rich people's heroin." I mostly stayed away from the stuff until a few years later, when suddenly everyone seemed to have them and a had a major relapse. Then they were known in the media as "hillie-billie heroin." Why? Because every welfare scam artist with a "bad back" was getting them prescribed and selling them until they got hooked themselves. I am sure Purdue knew what this stuff was all about from the beginning. However, according to their advertising, the drug was always supposed to be a clean, safe, time released (and "non-addictive" - what a laugh) painkiller of the strongest kind. Well, from what I hear that is what the new OP seems to be. So, suck it up. If you're a junkie either stop or use the real stuff - heroin - it should be easily accessible since Afghanistan. (As an ex junkie I won't tell you to stop - you got to decide this for yourself.)
If you are a pain patient - I'm sorry, but now you get what you were always supposed to be getting. It may take some time, but you'll get used to it!

I like your answer, but I do think that people like me (who are just using the pills to get high) actually do make it a lot harder for the people who have legit reasons to have a powerful medication that works. Some people are in such pain that not only do they need it to work but they need it to work quick.

That is not true. I am prescribed oxycodone 30mg IR every month for chronic pain. Just filled one today in fact.

Hey, you can totally abuse the OPs. I know this because I know an addict that SHOWED me you CAN cook these up and shoot them up just like the OCs. Although you cant snort the OPs (if you did it would be like snorting styrofoam) and you cannot smoke them either. Still, just as easily abused.

I tore my acl and my buddy gave me a op 80 because the vics weren't doing anything for me after about 45 min I got hot and sweaty but then my pain went away and was replaced with an itchy sensation all night. I took another one the next day and it took a long time for it to work this time and again the pain was replaced with the itches. But this time I kept getting the hiccups my eyeballs hurt worst that any pain I've felt and I threw up all over my new couch. Personally I'd rather be in pain than to take another one. Idk of the oc would be different from the op but those side effects turned me off.
