Oxycontin 60 Mg

If I take 2 of the 30 mg oxycodone and I have the 60 mg oxycontin. Can you cut a 60 mg oxycontin in half and take it that way to get the immediate effect you get with taking 2 of the 30 mg oxycodone. I have to mail order my medications and there was a mix up and I have been taking for 15 years for chronic pain. Just trying to get by without going 2 hours to my dr to get a written script and then it would mess up my scripts again!! Thanks for the help.

No, the new Oxycontin are actually tamper proof, so they prevent anyone from being able to do that. If you cut them up, you will just get a ball of goo that still releases the medication just as it should. However, there could also still be a risk of getting too much, at once, and suffering an overdose.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
