Oxycontin 40 On One Side Op On The Other Side (Top voted first)
Updatedyellow round pill, writing on one side 40, OP on the other side
i have the same thing only the substance will not show up in a data base from poison controll and does not give you the high
@ FAT: Sir/Madam you are really speculating here with regard to Purdue Pharma reformulating the original OC. There is and ALWAYS will be the demand for the original formulation for those who are terminally ill or suffering from chronic pain and require the instant release OC. Yes, the abuse of this awesome narcotic is epidemic, but the illicit users aren't the only folks who depend (no pun intended) on the original formulation just to merely survive. I know because I am one of those who cannot have any resemblance of normalcy in my life without the original formulation and I have been legally prescribed the medication for nearly 10 years! My maintenance dosages would scare most. My chemistry doesn't process the generic and consequently I can only obtain relief from the original Purdue Pharma formulation. This is the honest truth and I understand there are many who also suffer the same issues with uptake. Fortunately, the DEA and the various gubmint agencies are doing a better job of policing the physicians who were contributing to the epidemic and many have been or are being brought to justice. OC, if used for the wrong purposes can and WILL eventually RUIN one's life or worse. A sad reality man has dealt with since the inception of Opium in the western world.
round pill 40 on one side and OP on other side and its yellow. is this an oxycontin generic?
i have the same thing and wtf is it?
They have reformulated oxycontin to make it less likely to be abused. It is more difficult to chew or crush and can not be injected by abusers. So it is a oxycontin 40 mg that is tamper resistant
do they still make real ocor just the ones that have the op on them?
OP is the replacement oxycontin. Purdue lab makes them (thats where the P comes from). Purdue started making the OC imprinted oxycontin first. They are the name brands. The OP are REPLACING the OC because the chemical makeup makes it useless to try to smort, chew, or shoot the pill. This will force abusers to take them the way you are supposed to. Eventually, they will be the only ones Purdue makes, I THINK, they are trying to slow down the epidemic. They have eliminated the generics slowly over time and now those makers will come back, but will more than likely make their pills with the same anti-abuse. If you get used to taking them normal, the dope sickness is not near as bad if you have to feel(so ive heard) and you can start to cut down what you need to deal with the pain if you do abuse them. I am sure someone will figure how to separate it or someone will bring a generic out that you can snort or shoot. Hopefully, by then the numbers of people ruining their lives with this awesome, but deadly and highly addictive drug, will have dramatically increased.
Stevie, this site does not sell, prescribe nor manufacture any medications and are in no way affiliated with Purdue Pharma.
There has been severe abuse and diversion of Oxycontin, so this product, Oxycontin OP has been made specifically to try and help prevent that.
It is the same dosage and strength as the prior Oxycontin,
The only difference is that if you try to crush these to get the full dosage, at once, it will not work, it contains a substance to make it retain its time released properties.
Also still has the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
Dear Mod, I wasn't implying that the 40/OP doesn't exist. I was merely stating that the 40/OP will never completely replace the original formulation. I think you will agree with that won't you? To quote Fat is was said The OP are REPLACING the OC because the chemical makeup makes it useless to try to smort, chew, or shoot the pill and my reply was directed at that. There are many who are terminally ill or suffer from chronic pain and they will still be able to acquire the OC formulation. To come back with a reply such as is there anything else I can help you with is a wee bit snooty now isn't it?
I have more questions about the oxycontin OP.Does anyone know how much longer they will make the oxycontin oc?
I live around san francisco bay area and we see the origanal OCs move through our citys very rapidly and just this past week i heard about the OP circulation and the past couple days it has been damn near impossible to find any OCs. I hear there gone for good and the very few you might see is just the bottom of the barrel, were almost at ZERO! Nobody around hear wants anything to do with the OPs. I would too like too know if this is the end of OC manufacturing for good. To my knowledge they've already stopped making them but id love to hear that they're still being made. Does anyone know for sure?
If this is the end of the OC, I will be switching to a different pain medication. I hated the generics when they had them and I will probably dislike these too. Purdue is going to loose alot of money. When they realize how much, they will start making the others again. I wonder how much they are going to cost. My copay on the OC's was really high. I wonder if these will be higher?
I have had a small amount of the new formulation prescribed and will say these do not curb the pain nearly as well as the original. I say this as a chronic pain sufferer and I receive my meds legally. I DO NOT chew them or snort them or any of the other ways to abuse them. I WILL SAY they are not comparable to the original formulation in ANY regard. They are more like taking an over the counter analgesic with a smidge of codeine or the like. I don't know why but my system doesn't metabolize the medication at all. Boy are we in for a long hard ride if this is Pudue's new OC!
I was told that they quit making the OC in March of this year. A friend of mine just got a mail order and they were the OP. Medco sent a paper with it explaining why the pill looked different. They are the ones that said the OC's were no longer being made as of March
I have heard that the oc was to be removed from shelves september 1st if any remained at that time. Is there any truth to this?
oops forgott the e in friend, I was wondering also how they can remain the same cost when anyone who has tried the op orally knows it does not treat the pain as efficiately as the oc.It makes me wonder if were not being given some what of a placiebough with a dab of sugar coating....
Beerbottle101 and Dave, from all information available, they are supposed to be completely done manufacturing the original Oxycontin, however, the company may use up and remaining stores they have of the medication and so can pharmacies.
From what I can find in our resources, though, they will no longer be manufactured after this.
This may change, if there continue to be problems with the new Oxycontin OP, but there is no way to say for certain at this time.

Any other questions I can help with?
If you call perdue pharm.@ 1 888 726-7535 there is a rep you can talk to and tell them what is going on with your medication. I'm prescribed four forties twice a day and i don't get the same relief of pain that the old OC 40s use to give me.I feel for the price of the same medication it should take away the pain equally, but it does not!!! I'm having to take more medication which means my prescription is going to run out early. That's the first time this is going to happen in 5 years. The rep said if enough people call and complain about the same situation or whatever problems your having then they are going to have to go back to the old OC's. I just feel you should get what you pay for!!! Please call and voice your complaints to the people that can make the change.
I have been on oxycontin for over 10yrs.i have bone disease and on dialysis, and the doc writes brand on my scripts,as thats the only kind that helps me to even walk. Can u still get the oc? I will get deathly ill.and not get throui dialysis withdrawing
i personally think that this is a bad idea for one because if the drug addicts of this nation cant get high on the real ocs than they are going to turn to heroin and the death tole will rise and you can quote me on that. its inevadable
