Oxycodone Photosensitivity

I work full time and have a torn meniscus in my knee. The pain is horrible. I have evaluations tomorrow so I can have surgery ASAP. I took a few oxycodone at night for pain so I could sleep. None while working. I got overheated yesterday and had to get out of sun for ten minutes. Could the medicine have caused this?

Hello, Sarah! How are you feeling?

Yes, most medications can cause sensitivity to the sun and heat. It's best to always be cautious by wearing sun block and making sure to stay hydrated.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
