Oxycodone By Actavis
UpdatedHi there, Who among us was getting generic percocet by actavis mfr up until walgreens switched to Camber mfr. (RECENTLY) Well...here,s my question....We were getting generic actavis and for many of us, it helped us. I think all of us have heard that a "BRAND NAME" Holds it's patton for 20 years? Then, it goes generic..RIGHT? Well, I have been told by numerous places that the "GENERIC ACTAVIS PERC" went to a "BRAND NAME" How in the world does that happen??? How can a generic suddenly go to a brand name that insurance will not cover? Think about that....

The patent is held for 18 years, but there can be some exceptions that allow for additional time, or for a generic to come to market sooner.
And no, a generic does not become a name brand, a generic stays a generic. In order for a company to be granted name brand status, they must create a product that is different in some way, such as a new formulation, being time released, or etc.
That being said, it could be that Actavis changed some things to gain a name brand status, or the price might just have gone up so high that some insurances will no longer cover it. For example, I take the generic form of Prozac for perimenopause issues, and our insurance recently stopped covering it, due to the price, so we have to pay for it, now.
The FDA warns that Percocet carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth.
I am not refuting what you're saying you were told, I do believe you, I have also known some pharmacies to use that as an excuse for a price change, or insurance coverage change, I am just telling you how things really work.
Even after the patent period expires, a name brand still stays a name brand. It's just in most cases, generics becoming available create market competition, so the price becomes lower, though not all companies drop their prices, there are always some companies that keep them high, which is why most insurance plans only want to cover generics, unless the name brand is the only option available.
How is the one manufactured by Camber working for you?
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Hi, I filled my script by walgreens for the 1st time by Camber mfr. PLEASE, stay away from oxycodone by camber! Made me terribly ill, nausea, massive headaches, all over "DRUGGED FEELING" dizziness, etc. I have been on pain meds for many years for various conditions, yes A few mfrs didn't do the job as well as far as managing my pain, BUT..... I never encountered ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THIS. I personally believe that whatever they are using as fillers, etc, they are putting people's lives ion danger! They are so "WORRIED" about people "OVERDOSING" that with this camber mfr, you truly do not know how many you took if you didn't put aside the amount for the day ahead of time. For ex; I take bp meds. I usually take mine in the morning, although once in a while I forget if I am busy. This one day I took one pain pill at the normal dose time, some time went by...developed a massive headache and thought, oh geez, I forgot my bp meds again. I took another bp pill. After that I relized what was going on. Please be careful...ok?
