Oxycodone And Alcohol

I take 5MG oxycodone 2x a day. Last dose was yesterday 4am and 3pm. Is it safe for me to drink next day, late afternoon?

According to research from umm.edu, drinking alcohol with oxycodone in your system can cause potentially dangerous side effects such as difficulty breathing, confusion, dizziness, slurred speech, and impaired cognitive function. For those reasons they recommended that patients avoid alcohol during the course of treatment.

The interaction between these two drugs also categorizes it as having a "high interaction potential". This may mean that even just a few sips of something could do you in. Better to play it safe in my opinion.
