Oxycodone 30 Mg 224 Vs Mallinkort 30 Mg With The "m" On It

If the are both immediate release and contain 30 mg of oxycodone in it what fillers are put in 224 that the M square doesn't have or how much more in it..I've been taking the M square 30mg for years and I was okay. Now I've had my pain pump malfunction so in the interim they upped my Oxycodone. The pharmacist changed brand didn't tell me i.always cut them in half anyways my hubb only cut of the script when I came in noticed they were not the same pill got out the vial and under mfg. They cross out MallIn didn't write down s name but I am itching bad n my stomach is hurting. I was prescribed HCL from another Dr. Before they called Buspar one 15mg..did the same just not as bad..why is 224 bigger. And should the pharmacist had told me before I was given.. cause I know my insurance will not pay for more..bottom line what is in the 224 not in the Mallinkort plus other added stuff since it's considerably larger. .thank you and see if anyone one out there can find the answer before I call pharmacist and ask him why he didn't tell me why I wasn't informed that they weren't my usual.

Hello, Hurti! How are you? I'm sorry about the issues that you're having.

The size just depends on which fillers the manufacturer chooses to use from the approved FDA lists, some take up more room than others.

And your pharmacy actually isn't required to tell you, as long as they are providing you with a generic that is approved for sale and use in the U.S. by the FDA. Many do, as a courtesy, to prevent confusion, but they aren't required to and which one they provide you with may change regularly, depending on which company was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply.

The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

The only way to avoid this in the future would be to speak to your doctor about prescribing it as 'brand medically necessary' or whatever the equivalent is in your state, so the pharmacy can't dispense you a generic.

The one with the 224 marking is manufactured by Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories, it's excipients are listed as being: lactose anhydrous, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, sodium starch glycol ate type A potato and FD&C Blue No. 2.

Do you now what the marking was on the other one with the M? I'd need this information to provide you with the proper list of ingredients for it. Thanks!
