Taking 100 mcg Fentanyl for chronic pain with 15 mg oxycodone imm rel 3x for btp. I have somewhat better attitude but with low or no pain relief. 15 mg oxy just isn't enough for the btp. I'll see if Dr. will increase dosage. Anybody else on this combination?
Yes Im On The Same But The 75 Every 2 days And Oxy 4 bid
I was taking Oxycodone 15mg immediate release tablet, made by Actavis. I'm now taking Oxycodone HCL 15 mg tablet made by Qualitest. They both claim generic for roxicodone But they don't seem to be the same? One works much better for my pain and last longer. Also why is one labeled immediate release and the other is labeled HCL?
The one that didn't control my pain or last very long I was purchasing from my hospital pharmacy. Ended up needing a refill on a Sunday and Hospital was closed so I went else where and was shocked when I took the other brand. Don't think I'll be going back to the Hospital Pharmacy. So I'm just wondering why so different and why are they labeled different, one HCL and one IM Release? Does this play a part with how they work? Thanks so much, Constant Pain.
The 15minute to 20 min. tablet is immediate release, the only true Instant Release, is through an IV at the hospital, now that's instant release, all the oxy w/ out the Controlled release or extended release are meant to dissolve as fast as the can and get broken down by the body to release say 15mg all at once into the body, true some companies binders can take more time to metabolize, like pursues Lil baby company (Rhodes Pharm.) but avoid them like the plague, the ingredients used to make this pill & it's many fillers, some being very bad for human consumption, like cross providone & magnesium sulfate all of which even the FDA is having removed from drugs in the OTC medications & also other health & beauty aids. It's crazy but I guess if your a multi billion company paying for certain governmental electors to be sure & win & then back them up once in office, honestly it sucks to have to even be taking any form of medication, of ANY KIND. It's like my Texas buddy always said, "YOU PLAY WITH THE BULL, YOU GET THE HORNS", & I say this because this medication is sooo very much addictive & I noticed here recently having tapered down my prescribed 15mg 5-6 times daily as needed, well I got down to three for weeks & felt less total pain that when I was taking 5-6 a day, plus I get either the vintage brand, or Actavis & the are both pretty decent, the Actavis use to be so very much better but rarely are. I want everyone to know I'm trying not to come across as sounding hypocritical but better yet I just like to study & know what I put into my body, I honestly think Purdue Pharmaceutical company is pretty balls out having a sister company like, Rhodes Pharmaceuticals, which even on their site the say we take pride in making only the best of controlled substances, so now if Purdue gets hit w/ any legal suit they can put the blame on Rhodes if it's a Rhodes product. I had one 15mg before & holly s*** was it huge or what, not the size of a percoset but very large & bright white, football like shape to it, example like a GIANT xanax 1mg. Football shaped tablet, they are truly huge & take about 45 minutes to an hour to even work, so I told my pharmacy I refuse to take these, even the FDA has several of their fillers listed as unsafe for medical use & you can imagine what those things must be doing inside our bodies, long story short I just got my script filled & I'm opening it to see what brand it is & it's made by maligncroft which is also a decent generic. My pharmacist said it's not unusual when a company is low on raw materials to make medications that they will have another company make so for example here with my maligncroft ( spelling ?? ) anyways it could have been made by Qualitet or another maker labeled on the bottle the pharmacists have & you can read it & very often it will say : made by so in so, for say Actavis but actually manufactured & produced by so or so for another company, you gotta love these guys, their nothing but big shot drug dealers & have a license to make these types of medication. My three doctors I see ( only one writes my script for oxycodone & even with the severe extent of my injuries ask me why I wish to not take anymore meds.,for pain & or at least giving me something stronger to be taken, I honestly don't wish to & I tell them this is enough as I will taken Aleve w/ it & that helps me, I just don't want to have to take this clap for therest of mylife, I want to get back out there & do the things I use to do & love. I pray soon this will become a memory, like I was saying I can take up to 6* 15mg a day but have only been taking the three total & today I took six complete ones & I just fell asleep, but woke up more in pain than I had felt in a long time, body & back just stiff as can be, just shows the tolerance one build to this stuff & honestly it's still a Codone medication so it's semi synthetic, the oxies are stronger for pain but I TRULLY believe hydrocodone is a much better drug, not being made using the chemical Thebaine, which is used to make all oxy based products, I say to all their own & I know none of us can get both or can we? Ill have to check it out on Monday. It's hard to find a good doctor & pharmacist that's not scared of the man (DEA, etc) like so very many Dr's. & also pharmacists, I'm glad & I feel so very blessed to have a great doctor whom lives by the oath he/she took upon getting the final go for becoming your very own doctor, as it says in today's world of modern medicine NO PATIENT, should be made to suffer or live in constant pain.
There are less pharmacies that carry Oxycodone HCL 15mg IR due to teen and adult abuse and there are more than a fair share of pharmacies that are getting robbed as well.
I'd just like to add some information here, in case anyone else is looking for information on the tablet with the ETH 445 marking.
It does contain 15mgs of Oxycodone, but it is not an immediate release formulation. This is a regular release tablet that's a generic for Roxicodone.
The only immediate release Oxycodone that's available is a 5mg capsule, by their very nature, tablets aren't immediate release when swallowed and will all take about 15 to 20 minutes to start working.
I hope these posters finally found adequate relief.
Are there any questions?
If anyone isn't familiar with it, there are more Oxycodone details available here.
