UpdatedDoes it supposed to work better faster or what this will be my first time trying oxycodone 15 U23 I just picked them up for my pharmacist went to the doctor yesterday but I'm always scared of trying new things but the regular Oxycontin 15 M Block I think wasn't doing anything for my pain and I'm a natural person I don't like to try stuff so I'm hoping when I do try this. It won't have me oh still hurting dizzy stomach upset vomiting I'm hoping that it just stopped my pain and have me to sleep good tonight that's all I want thank you

Hello Linda,
I apologize but I am having a difficult time figuring out exactly what you're asking. I believe what you want to know is if the Oxycodone 15 U23 takes effect faster than the 15 M. If that's the case then there is no way of me giving you an accurate answer as it will ultimately result in how well your body responds. What I can do however is give you some information that will give you a small indicator of how differently you will react to the swap. All information I give you will be sourced from the National Institute of Health.
Oxycodone 15mg U23 pills contain 15 mg of OXYCODONE HYDROCHLORIDE as well as the following inactive ingredients which is the same amount of active ingredients as any other 15mg oxycodone pills including brand name Oxycontin. Where you will see the biggest differences between brands is in their inactive ingredients. The inactive ingredients are the part of the pill that determine the speed at which your body is able to metabolize the medication.
The U23 pills have the following inactive ingredients.
CELLULOSE, MICROCRYSTALLINE
STEARIC ACID
LACTOSE MONOHYDRATE
ANHYDROUS LACTOSE
STARCH, CORN
FD&C BLUE NO. 2
D&C YELLOW NO. 10
Whereas the Oxycontin brand name has these inactive ingredients.
BUTYLATED HYDROXYTOLUENE
HYPROMELLOSES
POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL 400
POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL
MAGNESIUM STEARATE
TITANIUM DIOXIDE
POLYSORBATE 80
FERRIC OXIDE RED
As you can see the inactive ingredients are significantly different and thus it can be safe to assume that you are going to have a different interaction with the medication. I can't tell you for certain which of these two medications is going to work out better for you as we are all different in how we react to medicine. What I can say is that it is very important to keep an open line of communication with your primary care physician to ensure that you are getting the best possible medicine for your condition.
I hope this information helps. Let me know how it all works out for you.
