Over The Counter Infection Med Beginning With A

It was a prescribed med, then several years later became over the counter. A Cardiologist gave to his wife for her travels in case she got an infection only condition. It worked over night. It was spelled beginning witn "A" and couple other letters followed.

There are no antibiotics available over the counter, other than topical ones that are available in creams, or ointments, in very small amounts. You can verify this with the FDA and the NIH.

Did someone tell you this, or did you read about it somewhere?

Does anyone have an idea of what they might be referring to?
