This medication is actually an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. Thus, it will not help with a stomach ache, unless the ache is due to some type of infection.
The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
