According to the U.S. FDA, Morphine is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

50 units may be dangerous, to some people, if they aren't opiate tolerant, so it could risk overdose. Thus, you shouldn't administer more than has been prescribed by their doctor.
