Ondem Md 4 Mg (Top voted first)

my wife is 18 wks pregnant and she is having sever nausea / vomiting tendency.she cannot eat anything.she vomits frequently. doctor has adviced following meds. 1.ondem md 4mg 2wice aday. Is it safe??Is there any other suggestion?

Ondem contains the active ingredient Ondansetron and it is commonly used to help prevent nausea and vomiting.

Recent research has shown that it is safe and effective for pregnant women.

It can cause some side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth, however, the danger to her and the baby, if she is not holding down any food, is much greater than if she doesn't use it. If her morning sickness is this severe and allowed to continue, she could end up dehydrated and malnourished, which would also affect the fetus and she could end up miscarrying.
