Can you get pain meds if you have surgery while your on suboxyn or can you never get pain meds again

Usually, your doctor would have you stop it several days before surgery, so it won't cause problems with anesthesia and to ensure that pain medications will work for you. The Naloxone in it usually only blocks them from working for about 3 days, after last taking it.

The FDA classifies this as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
