I have been on oxycodone 10 mg 4 times a day for few yrs due to back surgery and no relief and now my dr changed oxycode same dosage to 3 times a day and added morphine 15 mg sulfate tabs 4 times a day. My question is.... Is it safe to take both and that many a day since i have never been on morphine before? Seems like a lot of meds but it has helped me dramatically with pain i just dont want to overdose since i dont know as said much about morphine

Morphine is also a narcotic opiate that has been in use for many years to alleviate pain, as a matter of fact, it actually used to be the go to medication during war times for injured soldiers. Later, is was replaced by more potent ones that provided faster relief and comfort.
The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. They list the signs of overdose as possibly including vomiting, severe dizziness, severe drowsiness, and shallow breathing.
