I was under pain management for 10 yrs in Memphis & my doc passed away. Was seeing Dr Douglas Jones but he took teaching position at University of TN. I would be willing to travel to Ark if necessary. Have Medicare & on disability & have been on pain meds for years to manage severe back pain. Need to find a doctor with some compassion. Dr. Jones was great but had to move on.

Sorry to say your chances of finding a "compassionate old school doc" that is liberal with the pen and pad are no longer in existence. From one who knows, Your best bet is to seek an interventional pain management practice as they may offer a degree of relief that many would find helpful. Long term use of opioid and or opiates exclusively are not the optimal course of treatment for intractable non cancerous pain relief. I hope you find a provider willing to treat your condition but post CDC recommended dosage adjustment (morphine equivalent dosage reduction protocols). Best wishes.....
