Omeprazole Throat Tightness

My doctor prescribed me 40mg prilosec I'm feeling tightness in my throat been off an on for months now some days not so notice able but other days worse what should I do

You should have this checked out, because that could be a symptom of acid reflux, it might not be due to the medication.

The FDA lists Omeprazole as being a PPI, which is most commonly used to treat or prevent GERD, ulcers, heartburn and gastritis. Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, flatulence and stomach pain.

Are you also watching what you eat and drink to help the medication work better? Such as avoiding spicy foods, alcohol and caffeine?
