Have taken levothyroxine and atvorstatin for years and wonder if one or both these could be the culprit. I suppose no drugs are without side effects.

That is correct, all drugs carry the risk of causing side effects, it's just the nature of what happens, when we add a chemical to the body to try to correct a problem.
Of the ones you've list, both the Propranolol and the Levothyroxine can cause hair loss, as reported by the U.S. FDA. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination.
