Lansoprazole is available over the counter and is in the same family of medications, there are even generic/store brands of it, so it's fairly inexpensive. Just check with your doctor to make sure that it's okay for you to make such a switch.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, hot flashes, irritability and stomach pain.
