Hi I was taking Nuzak for a long time possibly 8 years on and off, PRN but I recently weaned myself off completely very slowly over a few months. I am suffering from severe IBS and picked up weight with cravings , can stopping the Nuzak a couple of months back have these side affects .

Yes, the weight and cravings can sometimes occur when you withdraw from such a medication, as reported by the FDA.
It may or may not have caused the IBS, it's hard to say on that, because it has been known to cause various gastrointestinal issues, but typically, they would crop up, while you were taking it and not after.
Are you taking any other medications?
