At 41years old, I took Methyldopa to control my blood pressure through my pregnancy. My son was born healthy with no complications. But, my primary doctor kept me on the methyldopa after I stopped breastfeeding and I had multiple adverse side effects. My advise is to switch to a different blood pressure medicine ASAP after the birth of your child if it is still necessary.
