Northstar Rx Losartan

My mom in law is 98 and she takes losartan/hctz, she didn't realize it's for bp she thot it was water only and she takes it every other day. What complications could she have she's afraid to take it everyday because she has to urinate more often.

Hello, Ruthi! How is she doing?

I would suggest speaking to her doctor. She can get the Losartan without the Hydrochlorothiazide and just switch to it, or take it on the alternating days to get better control of her blood pressure.

Along with more frequent urination, she may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension.

Take her to a urologist. I also had frequent urination and then they switched me to long acting meds which I thought helped, however after seeing a urologist they found I had a UTI. Sometimes a UTI can cause only frequent urination. I had no pain. I took Augmentin and it went away! If her Dr does a U/A that will tell you.
