Norethisterone Once Daily

I asked my gynae how to stop my period starting in 2 weeks time. She prescribed 5mg norethsterone once daily. I started taking on day 16. I have read that most delaying period doses are 3x daily 3 days before period. I'm concerned she made a mistake with dosing. I don't want to get my period whilst on holiday. I will be taking 5mg once a day for 30 days.

It's actually a fluctuation in your hormones, including a sudden drop off in Progesterone that cause your period to start. This replaces your natural progesterone to keep it from suddenly dropping off and inducing bleeding.

Those taking higher dosages, before their periods, then suddenly stopping are actually risking starting their periods, rather than delaying them.

You may experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and mood swings.
