Norethisterone 5mg Dose To Induce Period?

I have not had a cycle since having my son a year ago. I also have PCOS.

I have taken 5mg Norethisterone tablets 3 times a day for 5 days. It has been 3 days now and although I had period pains on the last day of the tablets I have no signs of my period arriving.

Do you think my dose was high enough?

Hello, Lucy! How are you? Is that the dose your doctor advised you to take?

Generally, missing your periods isn't a problem, unless you're trying to get pregnant again, so it's not anything to worry about.

However, most women do get their periods about 3 days, or so, after stopping it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms.

Are you on any other medications?

I also take metformin along with prenatal vitamins.

It is a problem as I have been trying to get pregnant for 10 months now. I have not ovulated since December 2014.

It has now been 11 days since my last tablet. Is it safe to assume it will not work now?

I have heard that no period after being induced could be due to low estrogen. I have ordered some estrogen cream. How many days should I use this before trying a longer dose of norethisterone?

I'm 39 yrs old and have 3 kids. My last period on 17/11/2016. Till today still no period. I tested it 3 days ago. I'm not pregnant. So i starting taking 1 pill of SunoLut norethisterone 5mg on 3/1/2017 at night; though my Dr advised 3 pills a day. I was so worried.. Any side effects? Thank you.

Hi. I did not have my period for 2 months and my doctor advised me to take norelut norethisterone 5mg (1 tablet a day). Can it help me to have my period again?

Its not true that 'missing periods is not a problem' and in fact os quite dangerous. You should have at least 3 periods a year to reduce the risk of endometrial cancer (unless you are taking a pill which has progesterone in it)

I took Norethisterone to delay my periods from 23 feb to 26 feb... My expected period date was 26 feb.... As of writing this (10 march) I still have not gotten my menstrual cycle. Is this normal after stopping the medication?

Hey i had my period on 26 dec 2016 last .. Now its has been 3 months no periods!! I started using norethisterone tablets 5mg three times per day for three days starting from 4 april 2017 to induce periods !!
But still why there are no signs of having periods ???

im taking norethisterone pills 350 mcg 1x a day as the dr. prescribed because im also breastfeeding. the problem is why i still got bleeding. im in my 7 days of taking it and the bleeding start on 6th day. what should i do? should i be alarmed on it?

Hi, I have been 2months delayed for my period and the doctor gave me the sunolut to take for 5 days...but the first day taking the 2tablet I noticed I already having spot..do I still have to continue the medication or I should stop???
