Nordiazepam, Temazepam, Oxazepam

Hi, I am prescribed diazepam 10mg, suboxone 8/2 mg, ibuprofen 800 mg, and nexium 20 mg and I take over the counter Excedrin and women's multivitamins. My Dr gave me a drug test and it showed I was positive for Nordiazepam, Temazepam, and Oxazepam. I have no idea what these are, I've never heard of them. If anyone can please help me understand why these showed positive in my system or have any info at all please help. Thank you!

Hi it's me again, right after i posted my question I continued to research and I actually found my answer. Come to find out the 3 metabolites of diazepam are Nordiazepam, Temazepam, and Oxazepam. They can be prescribed for a variety of medical conditions and on drug tests they show as separate benzodiazepines. But the diazepam breaks down in your metabolism into the three different medicines and so it will show positive for taking them but your Dr should be able to identify patterns of recent diazepam use and distinguish these from patterns of separate nordiazepam, temazepam, and oxazepam use so that patients are not accused of using non prescribed medications. I have an appointment set to go back in 2 weeks and I just pray that when I show him the toxicology of diazepam that he we'll understand and realize that I'm not taking anything that is not prescribed to me. I hope I at least helped someone else out with this information, to see for yourself go to: PPM Practical Pain Management- Understanding the Toxicology of Diazepam. That's where I found it and I don't even know how I ended up there! God Bless everyone! :-)
