I can not take any NSAIDs due to being a gastric bypass patient and there is too much of a risk of a bleed with these drugs.. I am already on hydrocodone so I can not take any other narcotic analgesics. Is there any other non narcotic chronic pain reliever out there to supplement the hydrocodone. Can't take tramadol now because NYS classified this as a narcotic. My doctor is going crazy trying to find something for me and has had no luck so far.

Why can't you take another narcotic?
They are very commonly combined to give someone better pain relief. People with severe pain are often given a long acting narcotic along with a regular or instant release one for breakthrough pain.
But if your doctor doesn't want to combine them, you could switch to a different one that's stronger and may help provide you with better pain relief.
