what is this for< I thought it was for a bladder infection

It is an antibiotic, it is commonly used for bladder infections, but can be used to treat other infections, as well.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea.

I began my 2 dose of nitrofurantoin mono-mcr 100 mg for treatment of a uninary tract infection. It seems to be getting better however I notice that I have some very light itching for the first few hours after I take it. Should I stop and advise the dr?
