Have you contacted your doctor?
It isn't advisable to take them closer together, than the 12 hour dosing, unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so. It could result in your getting too much of the Morphine at once and may result in an overdose.
Even though you have been switched to another narcotic, if you stopped the Methadone abruptly, without tapering, then you are likely to experience some withdrawal and rebound effects, which could result in pain that's much worse for a few weeks.
