I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, a general practice physician will not be able to prescribe them for you. You'll need to see a pain management specialist.
If you were telling doctors that you were looking for these types of medications to be prescribed, that might be why they didn't accept you. Doctors are taught to view that type of thing as being drug seeking behavior. Additionally, if they are seeing notes from your prior doctor on why you were dismissed as a patient, that could also complicate the problem.
You really need to set up an appointment with a doctor, make sure they get a copy of your medical records and then discuss your treatment options at the actual appointment, not ahead of time.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
