Did you actually go see her?? I'm moving close to Fletcher, NC in 10 days. I'm on alot of medications such as Prednisone, Soma, Hormones, Xanax, etc. I had Back Surgery 5 months ago, plus I suffer from chronic pain in all my joints. I take 3 Percocet daily. Would this Doctor prescribe these medications to me?? I will run out of Pain meds about 2 weeks after I arrive and I don't have a Doctor established there yet. Thanks for any help!

Try to see a Dr. you haven't seen. Bring your bottle and and any Records you have from your previous Doctor who prescribed Prednisone. Might help to go to the pharmacy and he can print out records showing how far back you started on the Prednisone, if you cant get Drs Records. Records can easily be faxed to new Doc. Ask him if he will AT LEAST help you to taper down and off the Prednisone. You CANNOT go Cold Turkey without the possibility of many serious side effects. A Dr. should give you enough for tapering. PLAN B- When you have 1 pill left..Just go to the ER. They will fill it!

Im also in the charlotte and Statesville area...to be accurate im in Huntersville. I have been on xanax (2mg 4×per day) for 7 years and never missed a day of taking it until i lost my doctor over bs. He told me when i started seeing him how dangerous stopping xanax is and how my previous doctor had to be crazy for just cutting my xanax from 8mgs per day to 0 mgs. He turned around and did the same thing. A place to get benzos is from Lakeside Family Physicians in Huntersville from either Dr. Jeffrey Berger or Dr Baker (i never saw Baker but a friend did) or Dr. Dane Floberg in their Charlotte office. I cannot get anything there bc i was kicked out and desperately need some doctors names that will prescribe me xanax bc the withdrawal is life threatening. Ive had seizures, but no stroke yet, thank God. I have a way to get 6mgs a day but need 8mgs bc i have such a tolerance. Please let me know if you know of a slam dunk doc.

Comments about chronic pain patients are required that you must see a pain specialist for opiate medications is not true. I moved to MN in June 14 and with my past records I saw a family doctor expecting that she would tell me that I would have to see a pain specialist or some other specialist before she could prescribe the MS-Contin at all. She spent about 20 minutes giving me a exam and looked at my 5 year old MRI and I walked with all the prescriptions I had been getting from my last doctor in FL.

I need prednisone BAD! I have menieres disease & was bedridden for two yrs until a fnp put me on pred. Its changed my life, I'm almost back to my old self when I take it. The fnp moved away, I'm out of refills & cannot find a Dr who will prescribe it. I need a reliable pharmacy that doesn't require a script. There has to be someone out there who can recommend one. Someone plz help I'm almost out & its very dangerous to stop pred cold Turkey. Ty

im glad i found you. i went to do research and than couldnt find you. but i did is Asheville or fletcher near you. i found a female doctor that has 3 offices 2 in ashevillle 1 in flectcher. her name is Dr Melissa Hicks phone numer for Asheville is 828-252-0670 same number for second office. for Fletcher is 828-628-8250. im very sick lost my doctor and wished someone would of helped me. she had great reviews only 18 minute wait at the most looks compassionate talked about pain. i just felt a connection thats the doctor for you (alittle physic) call her. im so far from you i just happen to read yours and said i want to help her. i hope it works out.

I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, if you require such medications on a long-term, ongoing basis, you'll need to see specialists for each related condition. For instance, pain medications will need to be prescribed by a pain management specialist and Clonazepam from another, a PCP can only write now for general medications, such as those for high blood pressure.
Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to the appropriate doctors? If so, that would likely be the easiest and fastest way to find the help you need.
