UpdatedI have just got a prescription for metoprolol tartrate 25 mg twice a day, for an occasional misfire of my heart valves, causing a short fiberlation. After reading ALL of the side effects , is there a safer alternative to this med.

Hello, Joe! How are you?
Side effects are usually just transient and go away, once your body gets used to the medication. Additionally, you may not experience any of them. It would be best to follow your doctors instructions for taking the medication to see how it works for you, then talk to them, if you end up having a problem.
Metoprolol is classified by the FDA as a beta blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, increased urination and headache.
What side effects were you concerned about? Perhaps I can help you by specifically address those.
Since taking Metropolol, I've been experiencing hair loss.
I take metoprolol er twice a day for irregular heartbeat. I have a bad valve and a narrowed chamber. The electrical signals go crazy and jump from top to bottom on my heart till my heart quits pumping blood. I WANT a natural remedy that will completely replace the metoprolol. One way or the other i am going to quit taking the metoprolol. Thank you.
