Sounds like we are in the same boat around here! My pain dr stopped taking my insurance last month. He was awesome. I'm really afraid I won't find someone that will keep me on my meds that have taken a year to find the combo that works. Good luck! I hope you find what you are looking for. Being able to live a semi-normal life is not something I want to take for granted ever again!
I am 32 and have had surgery and my current PM clinic in Nashville keeps trying to taper me OFF my meds. I had oxycodone 10 (120 count) after surgery for several months, which honestly barely masked the pain it was terrible...apparently I am one of those unfortunate people who need higher doses than most people. Of course to doctors that means you are a junkie. I have chronic pain that won't go away. They brought me all the way down to hydrocodone 7.5 (90 count) without even tapering me off. It was awful. It's been about a year now and I still have pain. Now they are wanting to take me down to 5mg twice a day...a joke. I can't function on that due to the pain levels and need to find another doctor. Please can some one provide names of a couple doctors around Nashville (I dont' mind traveling an hour or so either) so that I can find a doctor that won't give me problems. I am having panic attacks constantly since my last appointment knowing that they will be taking me back down again when the pain is already so much to bear even with the hydrocodone 7.5 three times a day. I have all my records and MRI's.
Since the new law July 1, 2016 where the pain Drs are classified as tier I or Tier II. I need a tier II dr. I've been on 3 oxymorphone ER 15mg and 4 Oxycodone 30mg daily for over a year. Some, the new law my dr can not prescribe that much and cut me in half. I have played and screws in my neck, severe degenerative disc disease, carpal tunnel, L3 - S1 herniated and both hip pain. Any help would be great..
Does anyone in west or middle tn write Methadone for severe evidence - based pain ?
