Are you sure it was a narcotic? They aren't usually given for seizures.
Off the top of my head, Codeine is a narcotic that starts with a C, it's a very mild one and has been available for many years. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Benzodiazepines are sometimes given for seizures, in that case, it could have been Clonazepam. It carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.
