Narcotic Conversion Chart

I have been taken hydrocodone 10/325 up to 4 a day for several years now for chronic pain in my back and knees the hydro is not doing as good now as befor. The Dr changed me today to oxycodone 5-325 up to 4 a day. Can some please tell me how much of a difference it is going to be? Will I be able to tell the difference? I mean it looks the oxy is less mg. Can't seem to find a answer myself. Can I get some advise please? Thanks

I really can't say as to whether or not you will feel a difference, it really depends on your body. Oxycodone does work better for pain relief for some people, but not all.

Additionally, the Hydrocodone is weaker, so you'd need 6.67mgs of Oxycodone to equal each 10mgs of the Hydrocodone that you were taking, so there is a chance that the 5/325 is too low for you.

The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
