This medication doesn't become dangerous, after the expiration date, but it does begin to lose effectiveness, so it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation.
