Names Of Helpful Doctors

Does anyone know of Dr who prescribes MS Contin for pain in Louisiana? Close to Slidell, I just moved here from Tx, and have tried one dr and called numerous with no results. I've tried many alternatives with no luck either and info would be helpful!

Unfortunately, you will not likely have any good results if you are calling doctors, and asking if they prescribe any controlled substance. The person answering the phone at their office has no way of knowing if the person that called is a legitimate patient with a need, or just a drug seeker, so they are usually instructed to just tell you that they don't prescribe them, and get you off the phone. The same happens with most pharmacies if you just call to ask them about filling a prescription for a controlled substance.

The only way to get a real, honest answer, is by actually setting up an appointment with the new doctor, make sure they receive a full copy of your current medical records, including prescribing information, and then discuss your options with them, at the appointment.

I know, this could mean you have to run to appointments with several doctors, and pay several fees, or copays, but there is nothing we can do about it, due to the high level of drug seeking, and abuse that occurs.

The FDA warns that MS Contin carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
