My heal on my left foot has been hurting for about 6 months. At times it is fine for awhile and then it starts hurting again. Some days I can't hardly walk on it. Do you have any suggestions what it could be.

You might have developed a heel spur, it's a type of calcium deposit that occurs on the underside of the heel bone of your foot. That type of pain that comes and goes is often associated with them.
Have you consulted your doctor? They can be detected with a simple x-ray and then treatment options can vary, depending on the cause. Sometimes it's a simple as relieving the pain and wearing better shoes for awhile.
