No, you will not be able to switch out some of the pills to try to fool them. All prescription tablets have unique markings to enable their identification and nothing over the counter is going to have the same markings.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

If there aren't exacly enough pills there, she will get kicked out of ain management. For example, if the directions say take 1 tablet twice a day and she got the rx on July 28 and they are going to be counted on Aug 13, she would need to have 32 pills. If she is sure that they won't do a tox report at the pill count she needs to just take 1 pill a day instead of 2 until she knows that she will have the correct amount at the pill count.
