Ms Contin Er 100mg
Updated11/1/2013 TROUBLE GETTING MS CONTIN 100MG ER FILLED? I have been to no less than 15 pharmacies and can not get this filled. I have 3 disc herniations and pain is round the clock. It's sad when the pharmacies tell you that it is "on back order" or "cant help you" etc. and they can see the Rx is valid from a respected Dr. I finally found a "specialty pharmacy" that handles meds that need compounding that filled 2/3 of my total Rx. I was told by an owner that the pricing of MS Contin has tripled in the last few months and there is no profit margin which the regular pharmacists are probably unaware of. I may be wrong but it almost seems like "price fixing" by the Pharmaceutical companies. Nine months (Jan to July) of regular prices and then triples? The pain we suffer is bad enough and then unable to get your legitimate Rx filled is sad. The manufacturers realize the addictive nature. I had the same problem last year and stabilized in Jan 2013. I just wonder if anyone is experiencing similar problems with getting your Rx filled? May God have mercy on their souls. (frustrated). Do let me know if t is only me.

Hello, I used to live in the Phoenix AZ area and had no problem with my doctor or pharmacy getting as much as I needed. Earlier this year I moved to Florida and I AM SORRY THAT I DID! I was able to get a prescription for my methadone at least but not one pharmacy would fill it. Now I have morphine at 1/3 of the recommended dosage and FINALLY my local pharmacy is filling it after I built my reputation at their store. However, they still don't always have it. I too have had to ride around to scores of pharmacies, day after day, trying to fill just one script without any luck. I've even been asked to leave the store several times. This state is disgusting, the way it left its true chronic pain patients hanging without any recourse. One can NOT go to another state to fill a Florida prescription either. I wish to God I hadn't bought a house here. Now I'm stuck waiting for the prices to go up so that I can sell it and not lose my shirt. As soon as I can i am going to get the h*ll out of here. Whatever you do, don't move here. If you are in AZ , I have the name of a GOOD pain doctor. God, I miss him.....
Towards the end of the year, there is almost always a shortage of controlled substances.
Each manufacturer of them is given an allotted amount that they can produce for the year, once they reach that amount, they can't manufacture any new product, until the new year, when they receive their new allotment amount. This almost always creates a shortage, as it is rare for these allotted amounts to actually meet the projected demand. I've been watching this type of thing occur over and over for many years, now.
Additionally, on the east coast, things have been made even worse by the termination of a major pharmaceutical distributor. They were found suspicious due to the fact that they were moving far more controlled substances than other similarly sized distributors. Thus, this has added to the shortage, as pharmacies are having difficulty restocking their supply.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
I am very sorry for all the problems that everyone is having.
Are there any other questions or concerns?
So i just got prescribed 100mg MS CONTIN instead of my normal 30mg oxymorphone ER. Because the oxymorphone is on backorder till next month. So I thought no problem this should be fine for the month. NOPE they are just garbage made by Rhodes pharmaceuticals small gray round pill. It feels like I'm taking a 30mg MS CONTIN that I used to get prescribed 5yrs ago. I am so mad I thought they would really work I even tried taking the thin coating off and took 2 '3 at once and still barley any relief is it just this brand or are all of them like this? Any reply's (helpful) are appreciated THANK you
Re: ding (# 1)
Yeah you're 100% right they shot way up in price. They used to be one of the cheapest meds around now I'm paying 278 bucks for 30 x 100mg MS CONTIN CR pills made by Rhodes pharmaceuticals. They do nothing for my pain even after taking the thin coating off and doubling my dose no relief.
Half the problem is I'm switching from oxymorphone 30mg ER and those were super strong. For some stupid reason my doc thinks 30 x 100mg MS CONTIN are equivalent to 45 Oxymorphone. He must be off his rocker.
I'd like to change to oxycontin but it's just as expensive as the oxymorphone so looks like I'm screwed. Maybe a different brand of the MS CONTIN would be better cause this brand sucks.
