Ms Contin 100 Mg Tid Vs 15mg Oxycodone 6/day

which is better for severe pain following surgery? Have been on 100 mg ms contin er tid plus oxycodone 10/325 5/day for severe pain. having knee surgery and Dr switched me to 15mg oxycodone 6/day. somehow I feel like I am really going to be in pain.

Yes, the amount of Oxycodone you've been prescribed isn't equal to the amount MS Contin you were taking. That's only 90mgs a day and you'd need 133.33mgs to equal 200mgs of MS Contin.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

But how bad is your pain? After successful surgery, it should slowly start to improve and you shouldn't continually need the higher doses, you should be able to slowly lower them.
