It really depends on what's causing the discharge. This medication is only effective at treating bacterial infections, so if the discharge is due to a yeast infection, it will not help and could actually make it worse.
The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
Has your doctor instructed you to take it?
What does the discharge look like? Is there any odor? Are you also itchy?
