Mother Taking Respidol

my mother is in the hosp. mother on respidol iv drip at med flow she gets more confused and very angered and come in & out of confusion sence this started, would this med. be causing these mood swings i feel soooo sorry for her. diagnoised with atrial fib in sept 2010, thank you so much

Risperdal contains the active ingredient Risperidone, it is an antipsychotic and yes, it can cause those types of side effects, due to its effect on brain chemicals.

She may also experience: nausea, dizziness and somnolence.
