Morphine With Fentanyl Patch

I have been taking 60mg morphine sulfate er for 10 plus years with 30mg oxycodone for breakthrough pain relief. A friend of mine who also has severe pain is on fentynal patches and I was wondering which one is better? What I am taking now is beginning to not work as well as it use to. Help!

Fentanyl is the most potent opiate available, it is over 81 times stronger than Morphine. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, and constipation.

However, it depends on which medication works best for you and what your doctor feels is safe for you to try.

Are these the only medications you are currently taking?

Fentanyl 100mcg along with 30mg roxicodone 4 x per day works well. Everybody's body is different, but like any drug you will build a tolerance. Just be grateful for what you get.
