Morphine Tablets Slow Release

I am disabled veteran with chronic pain, and after reading some of these, and knowing how terrible life was before I was prescribed both types, I just cannot believe, or understand "why" it is not treated with respect, and the beneficial results, it produces. I have been taking the same dosage except for a increase in the # of SR tablets per day, and some days, I still have pain, but not to the extent, I experienced for over 20 years trying to work and be a productive citizen. People, take as prescribed, or you do not need it. My life, is not pain free, but I am not in agony, anymore. I, have a profound respect for the medication, that changed my life.

I think that these types of pain meds tend to carry a tarnished reputation simply because of the high amount of abuse going on between non-legitimate patients/dealers and those who feel the need to alter its structure so that they can take it by other means.
Unfortunately from my perspective, the reputation for abuse has spread across most, if not all other narcotic pain medications because of this situation. And at the end of the day all we can do is choose to follow the system or opt for other non-conventional ways to help manage our pain when the tablets aren't as readily available.

One important thing to note in light of this is that these medications are only intended to "mask" the pain and not necessarily "heal" your debilitating condition. So in my opinion it would be wise to also experiment with some backup options (perhaps in the form of natural alternatives/lifestyle changes) which may slowly help heal your body over time in conjunction with the initial inflammation/pain being masked by a prescription drug; using the two hand-in-hand to eventually not have to rely on one pain medication for life that is hardly accessible as it is with the way things are going. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else reading this, but being that I don't know your level of pain, this approach is merely a suggestion "for the long run" that I think more pain patients should consider looking into if they are tired of putting their well-being into the hands of someone else who isn't always going to be respectful of their condition. Nobody knows our bodies as well as we do!
