Morphine Sulfate Prescription Assistance Programs
UpdatedI have been on morphine sulfate long term for chronic intractable pain due to damage after a severe fall. I am on S/S and hence a tight budget, more so because my wife, who is too young to receive S/S for several years, has been ill and unable to work. Also, our 21 year old son has only been able to earn a small amount of money, and lives with us.
I need to find companies that might assist me above and beyond the assistance I receive from my state, New Jersey, that still leaves me with a bill of over two hundred dollars a month for my immediate release and extended release Rx's.
Any info on how to locate and apply for such programs would be appreciated.

Nothing exists for so-called generics regardless if you are paying $1000 per month. I didn't check on the name brand like MS-Contin but I can bet they probably don't offer anything because generics exist. And you would pay a lot more until you qualified if MS-Contin even had a program. And then the extra problem of regulation and distribution I could imagine makes it very difficult to even have a PAP program.
Regarding Methadone. I have to say that it did a way better job at eliminating my pain but I'm allergic to it getting hives and breathing stopping as I fall asleep.
