Morphine La 15mg Vs Morphine Er
UpdatedWe were told my husband would be on extended release morphine. The morphine ER is that type, but he was given morphine LA! What is the difference?

Hello, Sharon! How are you and your husband?
They are both the same, the LA and ER are just different ways to designate it as being a time released formulation. You may also see others, such as SR, XR, and more.
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
Is there anything else I can help with?
