Morphine 5mg Short Release Pill

I'm having a tooth pulled & have 12 short release 5mg morphine pills for pain. I'd like to know how long each pill will last for my pain. 4 hours, 6 hours?

It can actually vary from person to person, so there is no definitive answer I can give you. It is dependent upon your own metabolism, your tolerance to pain, and your tolerance to narcotics.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Other than the time I had full dental surgery, I usually found that having a tooth pulled was not extremely painful, after it was over, it was more sore, than anything, however this is unique to my experience. But be sure to follow the dosing instructions that have been provided, keep the socket clean, free of food debris and, if you're a smoker, abstain for awhile.

Thank you! I broke my arm over a year ago , snapped my humerus & it is still not fusing so recently I've been put on Nicotrol to stop smoking as nicotine is the reason my doc says the bone is not fusing. I'm not sure what tolerance I may have as i had a 2nd surgery a few months ago...but can't imagine having a tooth yanked could hurt more than those surgeries & hope enough time has passed for mt tolerance to have subsided. Last thing I need is any drug dependency! Think I'll do OK w/ what I've got...just needed some reassurance! Thanks again!
