Monocef Injection1gm For Kids

Hi ,

My neice was getting fever during nights continously for 3 to 4 days , when we took her to doctor and conducted blood tests malaia and typhoid tests are negative. Doctor has suggested monocef 1g iv/im injection twice a day for 5 days,. we took the dosage for 3 days. Now i want to know whether 2mg /day is too heavy for 4yrs kid.

How much does she weigh?

At that age, antibiotics are dosed by weight and then the total amount is split in several doses, just like what the doctor has instructed you to do.

And no, that actually isn't an unusual amount, at all.

The FDA classifies this medication as being an antibiotic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
