Mono-linyah Side Effects Or Emergency?

I just started mono-linyah for painful periods about two weeks ago. I missed a dose 3 days ago due to a stomach bug. started bleeding yesterday and its a little more than spotting, only a week and a half after the last day of my period. The blood is bright red And dark brown which are both different from my normal periods.
Just before I started taking mono-linyah I saw the doctor for an assumed injury from coughing in my upper right side just under my rib cage. Im worried it might be connected to that somehow. Any thoughts?

According to the FDA listed information, it is normal for breakthrough bleeding or spotting to occur for about the first 3 months, after starting an oral contraceptive, due to your body getting use to the changing hormone levels.

You should also be aware that while on them, your period is actually brought on taking a break from the hormones, there are no active ingredients in that last week of tablets, so you may also start you period or experience spotting, anytime you miss a pill.

If you're actively engaging in intercourse, a missed pill also increases your risk of pregnancy, so even if you have a stomach bug, you should still try to take it.

Side effects to these may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms.
