Missed Pills

I just realized i never took the two white pills from my last pill pack (lot going on). But i had my period so no worries and was going to just start my next pill pack sunday. However, i did not foresee my dr messing up (long story but will be switching dr.s) so, I was unable to get prescription filled until wednesday; 4 days after I was to begin taking the first pill. So doubling up wed, thurs and fri. I will use another form of b.c. for the next few weeks but am a bit worried that sunday I did not use backup (since I didnt know at the time I wouldnt b able to get b.c. that day). Just wondering how plausible getting pregnant would b because of this scenario?

There is a slight risk, so if you don't get your next period, you'll want to look into the possibility. But generally, women ovulate during the middle of their cycle, around day 14 or 15, so it isn't likely that ovulation occurred by Sunday, when you had unprotected intercourse.

Doubling up, at this point, won't really do anything except waste pills. To get back on track and be protected against pregnancy, again, you'll need to just take one active tablet a day for 7 days, which means no unprotected intercourse until the 8th day of taking active tablets, without missing any.

Side effects to oral contraceptives may include nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS, irregular bleeding and weight gain.
